David Finer

David Andrew Finer is in the fourth year of his PhD in Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His research is in empirical corporate finance, and he has a particular interest in information flow and political economy. In recent work, he employs taxi data to study opportunities for information flow from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to major commercial banks around monetary-policy meetings. During his time at Booth, he has won a Stigler Center PhD Dissertation Award, a Liew Fama-Miller PhD Fellowship and designation as a Bradley Fellow.

David was an undergraduate at the University of Toronto and earned degrees in Engineering Science and Financial Economics. Prior to his graduate studies, he worked as a Research Assistant and then as an Economist in a research division of the Bank of Canada.
