Willem van Vliet
Willem is a Ph.D. candidate in financial economics at the University of Chicago Department of Economics and Booth School of Business. His research interests lie in financial networks and systemic risk. Willem’s current research project focuses on using multiple traded asset prices to estimate the spillovers that occur upon a large financial institution’s default.
Prior to starting his Ph.D., Willem worked as a research assistant for Prof. James Heckman at what is now the Center for the Economics of Human Development. He graduated with a B.S. with honors from the University of Chicago in 2011.
